Floating Frame Size Chart: How Big Will My Framed Canvas Be?
Short answer: order by the size of your canvas, not the frame. My floating frames add 1 3/8 inches to the width and the height. A 24 x 36 canvas ends up 25 3/8 x 37 3/8 on the wall.

Where the extra 1 3/8 inches comes from
About 11/16 of an inch on each side: the thin shadow gap around the canvas, plus the hardwood itself. That's it. The frame is meant to finish the painting, not compete with it.
Not a standard size?
Most of the canvases I frame aren't. Add 1 3/8 inches to your width and height and you have the finished size.
